Benefits of Hypnosis

Hypnosis is an effective tool I use to help with pain control and to overcome bad habits.  It is also powerful in helping people change non-serving belief patterns into life affirming patterns that result in a more enjoyable life experience.

Pain Management

How does hypnosis help relieve pain? Like pain killing drugs, hypnosis blocks the perception of pain but without sedation or side effects. The video demonstrates what part of the brain is involved in this process.

Pain Management Hypnosis is endorsed by the National Institutes of Health and the Joint Commission Association for Health Care.

Organizations (such as the JCAHO) use it as an adjunctive coping skill in the treatment of chronic pain. More recent studies have uncovered the effectiveness of hypnosis for pain related to burns, rheumatoid arthritis and to reduce the anxiety associated with surgery. An analysis of 18 studies by researchers at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York revealed moderate to large pain relieving effects from hypnosis thereby supporting the effectiveness of hypnotic techniques for pain management. Studies have shown that people using hypnosis to manage their pain typically enjoy significant improvement, mostly eliminating the need for medication altogether.

Some of the benefits of Pain Management Hypnosis include:

* Cancer Pain - research has shown that hypnosis can help manage cancer pain and helps to boost the immune system. It has shown to also decrease the side effects of radiation and chemotherapy.

* Preparation for Surgery - according to Blue Shield of California, using hypnotic techniques 2-3 weeks prior to surgery was helpful for quicker recovery, less nausea, vomiting, and less pain.

* Hypnosis has been found effective in the management of many other types of pain including back pain, pain associated with childbirth, fibromyalgia and it’s associated discomforts, angioplasty, phantom limb pain, leukemia and headaches to name a few.

Benefits of Regression Hypnosis

Regression hypnosis is helpful in assisting individuals to recover memories locked within the mind that are difficult or impossible to specifically recall during waking consciousness and yet still influence behavior, feelings, and outlook today. Regression can  transport a person into a deep relaxed state where times past can be visited and in that relaxed state, self-discovery, transformation and meaningful behavioral/emotional/psychological changes can occur.  These new changes can positively effect people in their present, daily lives.

In regression hypnosis, people have been able to go into the past of their current life, into past lives or even to the places between lives as explained by Dr. Brian Weiss and Dr. Michael Newton.  Please feel free to call me with any questions.
